traverse is proud to present its first release of 2024, the new EP “Infini Serpent” by French artist Trois-Quarts Taxi System. Staying true to its desire to be a space for music exploration and discovery, the label and music platform focuses on releases which allows artists to explore their own versatility, while allowing the listener to be inspired and surprised by a wide range of influences.

At the meeting point between ambient, deep dubstep and mental techno, “Infini Serpent” takes you on a journey of discovery of a mysterious underworld.
“I really like working with the idea of creating organic landscapes and atmospheres, exploring an almost tactile, rough sound design. Mixing acoustic and synthetic takes of sound, bringing out their artifacts or 'flaws'. I'm quite attracted to the idea of making music with images, which develops a fairly psychedelic universe. That's what I try to convey in my live shows too.”

More than a meeting point, Trois-Quarts Taxi System has truly built an ecosystem of different sonic inspirations reinforcing each other. “I like to explore these ideas of hybridization in my music. I'm just as interested in the idea of developing very abstract, synthetic and complex sounds, and at the same time trying to mix movements and sounds that are less rigid, more naturalistic. I think in the same way as for influences, in my opinion it's always more interesting to try to hybridize them, while avoiding distorting or emptying styles and genres of their meaning.”

The creation process of the release was also shaped by the idea of latercoming live performances, resulting in a unique hybrid of music made in the studio while incorporating space and elements for live acts creating an ever evolving piece of music.
